Donkey Kong Land successfully translates the side-scrolling action of Donkey Kong Country to the limitations of the Game Boy. While the visuals are understandably downgraded, the core platforming gameplay remains solid. You'll encounter familiar enemies and mechanics, but with brand-new levels and a unique island-hopping world to explore. However, the small screen and reduced graphical detail can sometimes lead to frustrating moments of obscured hazards and tricky jumps.
