I love Metallica and i love Guitar Hero too. I thought that would be enough to like it, but this game didn't felt right to me, an unpleasant experience. I think it's a downgrade from GH: Aerosmith (2008) in every way. The characters modeling are basic, the special guests are uninteresting, the songs are WAY too long for the Guitar Hero gameplay system, the graphics are uninspiring as GHWT, the menu is lazy and the story is lame. Everything about this game feels half-baked. The most interesting parts are the motion capture of the actual band members, the venues where the shows take place and the Death Magnetic songs without the loudness war master. But even then, they're weak aspects, in except for the last venue The Ice Cave. Nothing has context, there are no interesting cutscenes, nothing. Maybe Rock Band The Beatles set the bar too high, but this game feels like a MOD, that's it. Charging full price for this thing is laughable. It could easily have been a well-crafted DLC for Guitar Hero World Tour. Disappointing!
