Easy member of the top 3 rhythm games I've ever played. The pace is breezy, the story is light but fun, and the characters are so charming and endearing despite having almost no development or screentime. This thing is just oozing style and appeal.

I find it to be such a marvel that a game like this would be localized and put into western game stores. This is the kind of B Studio game that I miss from this era - big style, small budget, all love. Before video games were seen as a multi-million dollar product.

Loved it.

my pithy review: this is the gamers' FLCL

The art style and creative direction here is hands down some of the most fun I've seen in a rhythm game. The songs were also another really great standout even though there’s not a lot of them. There were maybe 2 songs out of the 10 that I disliked . I can't really describe this game well except it being very unique and a must play for anyone that wants to try playing a rhythm game or really likes the look of that PS2-PS1 era of games.

I do have two problems with the game though. It’s very short, with there being only 10 levels and 4 of them being the ones that I would come back to play, making the game less replayable for me. Another problem I have is that I’m pretty sure there’s a very slight input delay on PCSX2, I’m not sure it’s like that for all games but for a rhythm game it’s very noticeable and makes it harder to play on the highest difficulty. You can try to buy the physical but they’re a little pricey and for such a short game I’m not sure most people like myself would be willing to get it.

most goated greatest rhythm game ever. still playing today trying to beat master difficulty. the addition of melody, battle mechanics and investable narrative stakes into a rhythm game is genius. im stuck on the ben k. escape ts is so hard
