Not my type of game but I still enjoyed the experience

Inside is a small gem, made by the same developers of the hit title Limbo.
The title isn't very long, but it's one of the best 2D adventure/horror games I've ever played. The attention to detail put in this game is nothing short of amazing, putting the spotlight on the love the developers had for their work. The gameplay never becomes repetitive, with each section of the game featuring unique gameplay mechanics for their stages that will never be reused. There are unique animations that are used once to convey emotion and character from the protagonist using all possible tools they could.
The audio deserves a really big mention, bringing every aspect of this adventure together and making it even more immersive.
I honestly don't think a game has ever said so much to me without actually saying anything.

Such a gem! I strongly recommend it.
9/10

Special thanks to a friend who insisted on me taking it.

GAMEPLAY

The controls were rather simple and the game probably wouldn’t have worked better in a different way. It definitely let it feel more immersive, both in its entirety and smaller details. A lot of the puzzles felt that way, although some of them were a bit more complex than others (but that’s okay).
I found no major bugs but I noticed the character’s movements were at times unprecise and slippery.
Unfortunately, I didn’t feel the (good kind of) anxiety I used to get when I first watched someone play INSIDE, not even during chase sequences, but I was younger then. I also think it’s unfair to consider that its main trait, because I believe it really isn’t.

STORY

As I’ve just said, I wasn’t really scared when playing, but the dystopic tones and settings were rather felt: that’s probably my favourite thing about the game because it was quite disheartening to see the sameness of the people and buildings, while whatever/whoever was different was either fleeing, dead or experimented on.
I didn’t full understand the story, but I liked both endings. The main one was honestly depressing: playing as the blob was disturbing on its own but the very last scene where it just lays there on the ground, after finally escaping the facility, was very impactful. The secret one felt more relieving, in a way: I was a bit shocked to know the main character was just a body used by the blob, just like how the former controlled other ones in a few puzzles, but the “definitive” death of both of them just felt like the better outcome.

CONCLUSIONS

I have not much else to say regarding INSIDE, given it was a relatively short and simple experience, but I appreciated it even though not as much as I used to. Probably, because of nostalgia, I had high expectations the game just couldn’t meet.

Short but sweet. Amazing storytelling and atmosphere and visual/cinematography

The ending to this game is so wild that I played the whole thing with my mouth wide open like some kind of simpleton and Lauren was like hey what's wrong are you having a stroke and I was like no look at that thing and then her mouth was wide open like a simpleton too.

Short one, whole game's atmosphere was cold and amazing. Some say the ending left a lot to be desired but i think it's kinda powerful. The alternative ending tho....

Very similar to Limbo. It was short and interesting.

Cool atmosphere and nice twist but not a whole lot to it and the "secret ending" was a dissapointment

hes still inside..dead.. poor thing i hate these kind of endings

not usually into these types of games, but it had some tense moments. The ending was pretty nutty

A dark, enigmatic and captivating universe
The very discreet soundtrack and the arrangement of lights contribute greatly to this overwhelming ambition
Environmental, metaphorical storytelling can be too cryptic but fascinating
3D models and superb character animations
A brilliant game in what it does and what it offers, in its "inside" themes and the way it pushes all the game mechanics in this direction

no fim, somos bola de carne.

Waiting for the next Playdead's game

Coming off of LIMBO, I think PlayDead did a great job with this game. You get the same eerie atmosphere that Limbo provides, but with a lot more detail and opportunities for worldbuilding and subtle storytelling. Puzzles are fun (most of the time), and the game offers you a great sense of progression as you make your way through them and into new locales. And adding new mechanics along the way keeps things fresh, while also lending themselves cleverly as part of the narrative. Although the ending may be controversial, Inside is a great game all the way through.
