I'm just not a fan of the aesthetics at all here. Beyond that the gameplay is pretty simplistic and somewhat sluggish.

Playing Through My Evercade Collection Part 14: Atari Lynx Collection 2

Sometimes you get a feeling when you finish a game, that sinking feeling, that feeling of 'Wait. Did I get a bad ending? Did I accidentally skip a ton of the game' and on checking guides, youtube videos and such realise 'No'.

Well thats Todd's Adventures in Slime World. The gameplay itself isnt bad, a bit of a slow paced explorative platformer with 101 items literring about to heal/de-slime, shield, jetpack and more. Its a rather fun little game with the quirk of that you dont really have a set life meter, instead you die if you get too 'slimed', something fixed by using cleanser or by finding pools of water to wash yourself in.

Its not bad, theres hidden secrets about and things seem easy.... and then the game suddenly chucks you into a 'WELL DONE' screen about 20-25 minutes in and all the good will just drains out of the room.

"Congratulations for your brave struggle against slime."

Pretty fun handheld platformer/ exploration game. Plenty to explore and pretty forgiving initially. You will get slimed! So jumping in water or using cleanser will help.

Nice vibrant graphics with ok gameplay. One to check out on the Lynx.

Kind of caught off guard by liking this one if I'm being honest. It's a simple and straightforward platformer with a few interesting movement options (climbing walls, jetpacks, etc) and a unique damage-over-time mechanic when hit by slime from ceilings, pools, or enemies. Washing off slime in nearby water heals you, and several power-ups allow you to protect yourself or lure enemies out of narrow hallways.

If you're looking for a quick break from more elaborate games releasing this time of year you can find this one on Antstream Arcade and take a nice breather.
