Oh boy where do I start with this game.
I am pretty sure this game is up there among my most played game of all time along with CS and Minecraft. I just can't get enough of the source sandbox experience that is Garry's Mod. You can pretty much do whatever the fuck you want in this game. Some people even recreated Half Life 2 within Gmod, which really says a lot about its capability.
As the game's name suggests, this is a game that thrives off of its absolutely massive modding scene: from random assets mashed together by a 9 year old to a detailed map recreating the streets of Resident Evil 2... the game truly has anything and everything (until Nintendo decides to be a dick that is). Part of what keeps me playing this game is simply interacting with all the assets out there and see what's going to happen.
Aside from the modding scene, the base game itself also has a lot of very well implemented features (yes, bugs are features). You can wield stuff together, use camera to make "movies", use ragdolls to create a ridiculous scenes that appears in the background of the game's loading page... Combined with the modding scene, the experience is simply unrivaled.
A game with the freedom offered by Gmod is all but impossible nowadays given the current state of the gaming market. There will never, ever be another game like Gmod. If you want to experience it now, I just want to say the game is still alive and kicking with many talented creators, so jump in instead of hesitating!

THIS GAME IS SO FUN!!
A great sandbox experience that can be enjoyed by hardcore players, casual players, and modders. The steam workshop integration makes getting add-ons very easy and seamless. Being a sandbox game, you really only get out what you put in. There's a lot of different gamemodes and experiences that you can get out of Gmod but you have to seek them out. This game is fun with or without friends to play with and just lets you run wild. The most customizable game experience ever made, frankly.
