As much as I wish this game was more like traditional 3D Zelda, this game is a fucking triumph. Despite how I feel about it now, Breath of the Wild set an unbelievably high bar when it came out that other developers still aren’t even close to touching (save for Elden Ring). Tears of the Kingdom has somehow risen that bar to a level that I genuinely don’t think any other major dev studio can reach without utterly embarrassing themselves. I’ll still mourn the loss of the self-contained, tight and guided 3D Zeldas of old, but I can’t deny just how amazing this game is. Please play this game
