It’s fine!

I really love a good ol point & click game and this one’s less than a hour long, got that spooky ooky ees aesthetic and very pleasant music. There’s nothing really bad here, nothing great either, but it works.

The moments in my life when I have been consumed by existential dread are never moments where I’ve considered becoming a landlord (of the woods or otherwise) and I think I’m better off.

There does seem to be a bug on the fourth tenant puzzle and a quick search through Steam discussions let me know that you can simply exit to main menu, hit continue & it’ll fix itself. You’ll unfortunately need to redo all of your work with that tenant but it’s certainly not game breaking ¯\(ツ)

a game where you play as a landlord might just top cops for me as a thing that will immediately turn me away from a game. Great review (:
Thank you!!
trust … i felt the same way but then i was like ohhhhhh look teeth, trinkets, skeletons!! & one day caved :c
but i know that i probably won’t ever escape the landlord lover accusations now
though my irl rent’s going up in june & it would be much cooler if my landlord would accept ribbons & buttons & bugs & things and do stuff i asked of her like give me back all of my organs like this game’s landlord does instead of only want my etransfers and not shovel big snow

omg it should be illegal to raise rent more than it's already been raised, I hope it's not by much ):
I've seen a few games that have u play as landlords and they try to do this thing where you get close to the tenants and in my opinion the concept would work way better if you were a janitor. They're the ones who are always out doing work anyways... makes more sense to me.
luckilyyyy it's not too bad but the notice put me in the mood to be an annoying tenant who wants to hold these people to actually doing the rest of their job (like,it's a house with apartments not big apartment building) that isn't just sit & collect free money 🤪
things do not turn out well for the landlord of this game so like i guess at least there's that pbbbbbbbbtt

a game like that does make much more sense for sure but i feel like people only want to humanize & be told to have sympathy for Clean Jobs that people portray as shitty(like landlord, Boss/CEO management sim things maybe) and absolutely never dirty work for normal people that are actually shitty (janitor, food service, cashier, front facing customer service in general, min wage jobs, etc). at least anything i've ever seen that's close to that kinda just makes the whole thing a joke & in a way where the joke is still on me
except for!!!!!!!!!! touhou mystia's izakaya but i think i'm getting off track a bit lol i'm sorry ^^'

Ohh I wanna play that touhou game so badly. It looks so good, but I don't have a PC and it's hard to use my laptop because of my ocd /: but yeah you're completely right, most games where you play as a low wage worker are usually treated like a joke or as something to grow out of.

My first ever job was cleaning dog cages at a boarding facility. It was great, I got to play with the doggies if I finished early and everyone there was nice. I've been saying this for forevvver but a sim-type game where you play as something that's not a farmer or a manager would be great. I could talk about how farming games never live up to their potential for a long time (but sadly no one wants to listen to me ]:), but like if you want to build a game with a community why not have your protag be a janitor or a service worker that has to see people and work with them every day.... just doesn't make sense. It'd be way more fun than the same old management sim anyways, and more humanizing

That was really long and off topic I'm sorry D: I talk sooo much
it's really really fun!! i haven't played in a long while just because i've been having a very low threshold for stress lately & some of the later quests & busier izakaya can be a lot for me on a good day but i still really really enjoy it. hopefully it could come to other platforms one day so you can play it :(

that sounds like SUCH a nice first job aw!!! i would listen to you! the only farming game i've played is stardew & i'm like "well! i dont gotta play any others because i found the one i love" but then i'm like hmmmmmmm friends of mineral town hmmmmmmm other cute farming games eyeroll i like a cozy game to have around and everyone knows i love a management sim but i agree they could do so much more with the genre

you don't gotta apologize. i feel like you & i always get talking ^^ but i'm never bothered and i appreciate your side of things and that you seem to get where i'm coming from!

Aw that's so nice... thank you for letting me talk with you it's really very fun, even if I'm spamming everyone's activity feed oops D:

Stardew really is the perfect farming game imo, I try to get into story of seasons but nothing in that game grabs me and you can't gay marry in most rune factories...Anyways!!! What makes me mad about farming games is how reliant they are on traditional farming and an economy despite also going for a community building experience. Like, why is this merchant in a town with only 4 other people living in it charging me for seeds? I read a lot about ancient & indigenous food cultivation somewhat recently, so I know that there's a vast amount of ways societies can be organized and how these societies can gather foods. There's always the contradiction of farming games wanting you to "exist with nature", but then have you chopping down trees and typical run of the mill trad farming junk. Actually, farming is relatively new in the grand scheme of history as gathering food by other means and storing it was infinitely easier, and maize farming was often rejected by many people.
I forget the name and it's so hard to look it up, but there's a type of food harvesting which relies on nurturing the habitat that already exists there, and there's even various forms of hunting that have been taken place over history... anyways like I said I talk too much but I think it'd be really beneficial if such ways of living were converted into a game. People need to see that there are many possibilities of living that doesn't just have to be the constant need for growth that capitalism encourages. And also it'd be fun [:

of course! i wouldn’t worry about it. you most certainly have better things to say than that ^^^^ guy…………….. .____.

I was very confused for the longest time in Stardew about why I couldn’t just plant things i already grew to grow more of that thing but once i crafted the machine to let you make seeds from your crops I was much happier & felt like i was doing a better job at being a farmer lol
I don’t really have much knowledge of farming or these other ways of cultivating food & living so it would be cool to see what games could do with that
And yeah it’s true that the idea of “existing with nature” but being encouraged to chop everything down doesn’t make much sense when you could just encourage foraging what you need more or nurturing what’s already there :S

Omg that kingdom hearts cunt was on a hogwarts legacy thread once being mean and then he tried to lecture me about suicide.... ME. sora would never do this.

I'd use that machine more if I weren't so lazy! It doesn't really make sense why you don't just get seeds from harvests. It's just really sad cause every single farming game seems to not even care to change the storyline, there's a lot of cool stuff to be done that is outright just ignored. Hopefully concerned ape's next game shakes it up a bit, I'm really excited for that one 0:

Though if you're looking for more relaxing farming games, there's a YouTube channel called "joshs gaming garden" (a little childish but 4 adults I prommy) and he's covered just about every farming game in existence. Could be worth checking out of u get bored with stardew (:

it’s like very obvious he’s a stinker but I didn’t know he was THAT stinky. guess it checks out tho. anyone who comes in like #notall(x) gotta be pretty bad.

Oh it DEFINITELY slows the game down a bunch & like if you’re later game & have a huge sum of money like what else are you gonna spend it on? other than the wizard things but those didn’t interest me. I cant wait!!! For haunted chocolatier!!!!
Farming games are looking very “if you’ve played one you’ve played em all” so I will check out that channel to see if any others would actually grab me before I actually buy any of them. thank you for the recommendation ^-^

When I first started stardew I played so much that my forehead went numb for some reason and I had to go to the hospital. So... I need to watch out for myself when that hc releases lol.

As far as farming games that are out right now, Immortal Life and Dinkum look really cute. There's also another game called Ova Magica that's looking really interesting and well crafted... aside from that I hope you find another relaxing game that helps you calm down, though I can't promise it'll be as good as stardew hehe [:

Also I'm sorry about whatever that is ^^ they were doing it on hildas stuff too. I think it's me, wish they would just bother me instead of annoying other people.
I didnt know foreheads could go numb!!! You’ll definitely need to limit playtime ^^”
I’ll look into those! I think i had dinkum on a wishlist or have at least seen it around but I’ll take a look! Thank you <3

Luckily(???) i didnt see the comments before they were deleted so idk what they were trying to say but it’s still mucking up our nice little back & forth 😡 They truly shouldnt be bothering anyone like you see people having a nice time & go like “yeah that’s too wholesome, i got some SHIT TO SAY!!” ???????? ???

lol i already had the landlord saying "some of us are good" blocked. ahead of the game. 💀 none of them are good! we are not your friends, landlord scum!

anyway this conversation is fun and good and you should have no fear of spamming anyone. if any landlords are offended, they too have access to the block function.

@brute yeah there's some real weirdos on this site -_- I'm just trying to have fun... and np! I hope you like them. I might go back to trying to 100% stardew after octopath 2 but its kinda dumb. The Golden clock should not be required that shit is so expensive,,

@zn0 thank you, it's nice to know at least I'm not annoying you with how much I comment lol. And it's always good to see another landlord hater <3
Between whoever the deleted comment guy is and that one great review of rayman it's been a real normal day on backloggd.

Someone giving you guys shit or something?

omg poor curs, don't worry we've all done it before. No one has the time to look through everyone's reviews to make sure they're okay... the real question is why do they let you type full on slurs?

Oh, it's that dude? I just saw and reported the Rayman one.

There are no good landlords. Being able to play as one in a video game is tantamount to playing as the villain, like Shadow the Hedgehog or something. I like the review, especially that funny lookin' guy at the very end.
thinking about this one time a review made it to the front page, someone replied to it saying it was good, then went to their profile and responded to their ratings by going "nvm they have re** ratings"
big game spoiler alert
the landlord of the woods gets eaten by their tenants at the end ^-^”” i thinkkkk (not positive) the game knows landlords inherently suck
i’m sure the mother fucker that was here hyping landlords up & who then went on to write his own lame ass review loved that part though i’m not convinced the person actually played it….

@Weatherby thank you for checking in on us! and for liking the review & shruggy guy ahahaha

@moschidae: unfortunately i am the one with that kind of time on my hands
don't feel bad, curs, i am here to help!
@BlazingWaters the front page is so scary to me for exactly this type of thing

@Weatherby it's so cruel to compare shadow the hedgehog to landlords... landlords WISH they were him

Omg nooo they did not write their own review after seeing yours that's so petty. Gave me a good laugh though. Also that's pretty cool, wish we could do that in real life =/

@zn0 I try to limit myself with my phone but you're not alone man I'm also stuck in my apartment all the time. Thankfully at this point I'm pretty good at being a hermit lol

also this is lame but I've never had any friends so when everyone's talking like this it makes me really happy, so thank you you're all so nice and I'm glad I met you all!!
