Seems like the main dividing factor of this game is whether you like this "everything and the kitchen sink" approach to 3D platformer design or not. For me, this definitely feels like it leans too hard into its minigames and side modes compared to the other entries, taking away from the simple satisfaction of classic Spyro exploration and gameplay. It's a very "cool sounding bullet points on the back of the box" philosophy, the same thing that motivated DK64's whole deal. Obviously this game handles itself much better than that, but something is definitely lost in all of these new features and minigames (the lack of supercharge stages is SAD). Still pretty good because its Spyro though.
