Really fun to look at but not a fan of playing it. Relying so heavily on moving the analog stick in time, not too slowly or fast, stopping at very precise places, especially in places that aren't on the edges, is just too much to ask of the player. Notes go by quickly, and not only that, this game has a real problem of visual flow. What I mean is, you'll finish a series of notes and then not even notice where the next note is supposed to be, even with the mechanic of the next note having a white outline, because it's on a completely different part of the map that has like seven possible notes that it could be. There's no worse feeling than getting into a flow and then not noticing that the next three notes have all went off, and they were just on a part of the map you weren't looking at. There needs to be something guiding you there, or at least keep it so the next note is close by. The white outline thing just isn't enough to make the really hard stages manageable. This control scheme just isn't viable.

Honestly, playing the earlier levels can be really fun, and obviously it has a great visual style going for it, but man the later levels really just show this game's problems in full force. I will say I think this game deserved to be brought to America, it certainly fits right in with plenty of other Dreamcast games brought to America, and is mostly playable untranslated outside of some parts that may require some help or trial and error.
