Cyberpunk's reputation will forever be tarnished by the state it launched in, and no amount of praise anyone sings will be able to change that. I'm going to sing its praises anyway though. This game was so fucking cool and fun. The opening 5 hours or so is all you need to play to tell if this is a game you're into, past that point you're likely already sold on the idea and will to sink 10s of 100s of hours in. The atmosphere in this game is fucking amazing and really sells the "city that couldn't give less of a shit about you" vibe. All of the characters that pop up in the story are incredibly well written and CDPR's signature world building as hard at work here, with everything from the main story to the smallest side quests feeling like they've had someone's heart and soul poured into them. The gameplay is great and really encourages you to build out V into the exact character that fits you as a player. I practically forced some of my friends to try this game out and within a week or two they had all grabbed it and were enjoying their experience just as much as I had. Unfortunately, this is where I have to stop sucking the game off and get into the issues I have with the game and more specifically, the technical issues I had. Some of the jank that was present on launch is still here. While the game is definitely playable now, you are still likely to encounter a few issues as you progress through it. Most notably for me was the amount of time it starting taking to quick save and load. The game has an autosave function built in whenever you start a quest or are about to enter combat. While a great feature at first, by the end of my playthrough it would take up to 30-45 seconds to finish its saving process. And in that time while I could still move around, I couldn't interact with anything to, say, get the quest moving forward. Especially in the late game where you're likely working through side content to get as high level as possible before the end, it became incredibly aggravating to have to sit and wait for the game to catch up with itself. I also experienced a handful of graphical and HUD bugs that you would think would have been fixed nearly 3 years after launch. I understand that with such a large game it would be difficult for even the largest companies to iron out everything, but it still annoys me to no end that the game was released in this state in the first place. I want to give this game a score that reflects all the positives that I had with it, but I can't in good conscience do that when the game still feels like it has some major flaws. Despite that I'm beyond hyped for phantom liberty to release and hope to god that CDPR has learned from this games launch and won't repeat the same mistake.
