Something your review reminded me of is why I found that I liked the Thief series so much and that's because he does the same in regards to having a large sandbox level design with many hidden and multiple avenues for theft, sneaking and hidden items.

Dishonored was a great experience and I can't wait to play the sequel sometime in the future.
