I really wanted to like it because it has a similar battle system to the mario&luigi rpgs but I think it's not even close to as good, it's often hard to realize which button you have to press (which depends on the character being targeted) and the game throws them at you at the start of animations (which actually do look great despite you not being able to look at them most of the time) so you have to react super quickly despite the game being turn based. Also unlike mario&luigi where you're constantly surprised by new patterns here it feels like every single combat plays the same. It also felt like the game's overcomplicated, both in story, having so many concepts and throwing all of them at you constantly and its rpg mechanics with each character having 8 pieces of equipment all with different attacks/status/passives/stats and relying on color coding for the RPS aspect which is sometimes super confusing. Good vibes but I just don't want to keep going.
