(played with the modern preset but movement settings changed to not include any additions from games past Galaxy, or Sunshine in this case)
Having stars not boot you out of a stage really changes how you go about clearing them, I was always thinking of what star I should get and in what order as I explored. It also makes the worlds feel even more like these bite-sized playgrounds as you go through
This is the ideal form of a QoL fork/mod/hack, every piece of constructive criticism you've ever heard towards Mario 64 is here and working just like you imagined them to, with some extras to add, all able to be ticked and customized into your most ideal version of the game, or something else if you're feeling funny

@Erato_Heti oh hi! I stumbled on your account while setting up after being wowed by your Platformer Toolkit review and how you breakdown your thoughts on the flaws and strengths of a game in such a clear and understandable manner. Wasn't expecting you to stumble on to me but thanks!
I think it's very funny that there are three different terms that are very distinct through a developer's lens but are all functionally the same for a player

Hey thank you, I'm intensely grateful to hear I've had such a domino impact on other users as I tend to still feel very much in my own zone most of the time. You got front paged so that's how I stumbled across. I try to give front page reviews a discerning nod of approval since a lot of the people users that tend to check there tend to just be unnecessarily mean and disapproving. When I wrote that Platformer Toolkit post most of my personal group mildly disagreed with it, finding it a bit understandably harsh. So I wasnt super confidant in it, its good to hear people got something from it anyway. Also I'm impressed that you found it to begin with since its an obscure listing on here.
Good job again with this, be seeing you.
