Konami throwing the Karaoke Revolution: Glee (Wii) developers to the dogs by commissioning them to remaster two of the best video games ever created from a God-tier series - that by this point they had already begun abandoning - under a stupidly tight deadline without even a complete source code is one of the most legendarily shitty asshole moves in all of gaming. Objectively the worst legitimate way to play these classics, Silent Hill 3 in this feels like it's always one step away from bricking your system. SH2 looks like crap - complete with comic sans font, unfinished fog, and locations hit with a severe downgrade in texture to the point of looking like a phone game. Doesn't even seem fair to give this as low of a rating as it deserves because it never had a chance to begin with. Plus, if you squint really hard then this does sometimes resemble what could have been for like half a second - the character models look pretty good (particularly Heather) and you've still got (fragments of) these exemplary soundtracks and unforgettable stories somewhere deep in this barely performing mess. I'll take a smaller company actually trying despite impossible standards and failing over a Triple A company winging it because they don't give a shit and still failing.
