Another game I was dreading with how often I heard about its "dimps" level design, and... another one I was pleasantly surprised with!
The level design certainly feels more bullshit than advance 2, but NOWHERE near the level of advance 1.
The character pairing mechanics are incredibly cute and fun to mess around with, the mixture of speed and traditional platforming reminds me of sonic 3 in the best ways, it's just a very good 2d sonic game!
Why they made the final level entirely an auto scroller, and the first level a menagerie of crushers and bottomless pits tho is just beyond me, that by itself docks half a star.
