It used to be my fave Mario game growing up as a kid. but after replaying it in 2020 it's far from my fave now.

The mechanics and camera have aged horribly, the F.L.U.D.D. is a really cool gimmick, but the controls and physics behind it are just really clunky. Also due to being on an Island and having a theme the games level design isn't nearly as creative, most areas are just various island/water themed levels and some simply aren't as memorable as others. Also don't even get me started on Corona Mountain. Worst final level in the history of Mario, fuck that boat.

Still a great game, but I honestly would've been better off keeping it as just a memory instead of replaying it.
