WE'VE SO WON!

What makes it so good? Genuinely asking I've been thinking of picking this one up.

There is so much mechanical depth when it comes to the combat. It gets a bit too much from stat min maxing standpoint for me with the DLC mechanics added in post game but that's there if you are a crazy person and enjoy that shit. There is a lot of neat interactions with spells and the environments & enemies. Some examples are if you use lightning on a puddle or body of water it will electrify it and become and stage hazard for anyone who walks into it. This also makes it an aoe attack if anyone is standing in it when you strike it with that spell. Another is if you are fighting the fireball monsters, if you hit it with a fully charged fire spell it makes them self destruct. The whole game is filled with stuff like that. I really enjoyed the story and loved jack, especially in the final hour+ of the base game.

Alright sounds to me like Team Ninja really put the love in here and that's all I really needed to hear. Gonna pick this up after I finish 16. I love this series so damn much with how innovative they are with it even if every now and then we have a miss (FF XVI)
