How the hell haven't I done the review of this game yet?! It's one of the best games I played during 2022 by far! Oh well, better late than never I guess, here we go:
Kid Icarus Uprising is not only the (in my opinion) best game on the 3DS, but is genuely the best revival to a franchise that I have ever played. The story is incredible, tho in itself its pretty simple, the sheer amount of chapters and arcs the game is divided make the adventure a lengthy one, and the characters are criminally charismatic and lovable, I really didn't expect going into this that Pit and Palutena would become some of my favourite Nintendo Characters, and the villain one of my favourites in gaming period. The dioligue is whitty and dometimes campy, but in a really charming way, and it knows when to get serious and when to get the fourth wall and be really funny.
The gameplay is what at first scared me, it looked clunky in the ground and a reallyy cumbersome way to control the game, but... no, it takes a bit to get used to, but once it clicks, it's smooth as butter, the boss fights especially are really fun and intense, but just traversing throught both air and land is the most fun I had with handheld game in my life
There was so much love put into this game that is palpable, the amount of content and replayability is insane and its full of surprises in bot its narrative and gameplay, and I didn't get into the amount of side modes and possible builds.
Soooooooo yeah, this is fucking great, I didn't expect it to be this good but I'm really happy that it was, I can't wait to see if it gets some kind of port, or better yet, a sequel that that doesn't take 25 years as Sakurai said. Really recommended, it's really freacking amazing.
