Sonic Mania is a celebration of the games that made Sonic famous. I have played and beaten this game many times. I’ve used all characters and have collected all the emeralds. Every time I pick up this game iPad start playing it I end up finishing it. It’s that good. Having grown up with he genesis Sonic games in the 90s, I never thought I’d see this style of Sonic game done again. The spritework is amazing, smooth, and polished. The music is wonderful. Tee Lopes knocks it out of the park with old remixed music and some great new additions. The boss fights are fun and can be challenging. The story is your typical time travel plot and really isn’t that interesting. It also plays on its nostalgia a bit too much using too many old levels. I would’ve loved to see more new ones. However the old levels are remixed in a way in which they feel new. If you love Sonic, play this game. If you love video games, play this game. It’s one of the best with high replayability.
