I played this game after playing Sonic 3 and 2. It felt dated then. This game is important as it gave Mario a run for its money and brought a new mascot into the spotlight. Sonic was the man in the 90s and was , at times, more popular than Mario. It’s sad to see his fall from grace. This game has great music. The gameplay it’s self is ok. You can’t spin dash. There are three acts for each level and the difficulty spike comes quite quickly. It’s worth playing for the history element aside from that, it doesn’t hold up. If you will play it play the iOS version as it’s added in Tails, Knuckles, and the spin dash.
