Great series. Cool story taking place after the X games. But it’s definitely suffers from first game syndrome. A lot of cool ideas are here. Not all of the work which is why you probably don’t see them implemented in the rest of the series. Perma fail missions, Not having extra lives replenished, and quite a steep difficulty curve. The levels can feel quite bland as times and the music is not always the best with only a few tracks standing out. There are some boss fights and characters and the lore is really what stands out here. For the sake of story you can play it but you can always just look up the story.
