This game is fun. The graphics and sound quality take a dive and that can be distracting from what’s actually here. You play as Juste, Simon Belmonts grandson and must go to Castlevania with his friend Maxim to save their friend. The game is your typical metroidvania. You explore, get power ups, and explore more. You lots of enemies to defeat and some unique areas to explore. The design is charming with often cool things to look at in the background and a very eerie atmosphere to go with it. Juste here can become very overpowered and can break this game very easily haha. In addition to your subweapoans(axes, knives, holy water,etc) you can you use elemental spells. Combine fire,ice, wind, or lightning, spell books into a plethora of combinations of magic that can annihilate your foes. It’s very fun. It can make the game very easy though. You get upgrades for your whip and you can find armor to increase your stats. Unlike circle of the moon there is a shop located in the castle, so you can buy potions instead of having to farm them. One glaring problem this game has is that it’s too cryptic. Sometimes this game gives you no direction on where you are to go. Specifically in the middle of the game. I wasted hours on multiple play through throughout the years just trying to figure what the heck I’m suppose to do and trying to figure that out across two castles is tedious. Overall it’s a fun game and it’s worth checking out.
