A reskin of Incredible Toons for MS-DOS, this physics puzzler carries on the proud Incredible Machine tradition with a cute Ghosts 'n Goblins coat. Like all of the games in this genre, Arthur to Astaroth shines in moments where puzzles allow players to mess around and find several right answers. However, in the same vein, some puzzle solutions come down to nearly perfect placements of a physics item that just won't quite land where you need it. The difficulty is so variable due to the open-ended design that levels constantly fluctuate between crushing and simplistic, between five-seconds to solve to a near hour, with very little relation to current progression or level structure.
But as a toy box it's astonishing, and the charming remixes of the classic Capcom soundtrack make it above and beyond worth playing around with, even if you don't reach the end.
