Damn this was one of the worst atelier games I ever played.
Cast of characters is very small, support system sucks.
You unlock basic stuff like wholesale and restock after ~15 hours of playing. (WTF?)
Story is just awful. Lulua is attached to the background character, and her motivation for 90% of the game is to open the damn door!! (at this point you have to force yourself to keep playing)
Many dungeons are copy-pasted.
It doesn't have turbo mode (please for the love of god use cheat engine speedhack early on, don't repeat my mistake)
Overall you do chores the entire game, but occasionally when it's time to upgrade weapons/armor you will have to grind money.

As a complete fanatic of the series I have to agree, weird loss of composure for Gust. This and Ryza are the only mainline entries I've ever been disappointed by I think. The last two have been fun at least, hope for the future.
