I had very little knowledge of Persona going into this game. From what I had seen, it was a very stylish turn based rpg. Word of mouth was enough to make me try it when it came to PC. I also knew it was long, but now, after I have beaten the game with the Royal 'true' ending, I do and don't feel like I could do it all over again. There's so much you can and should do in this game, and so much of it is full of charm and life. The bond you form with the characters with you over the course of the game is stronger than I expected. Many of the characters are such a joy to be around, the game would not be manageable at this length without the character work. The flexibility you have was also a treat, from being able to spend time with friends, to working a part time job, to running over enemies in a cat car in subway tunnels. The cycle of the game of exploring palaces while managing the school life was oddly enjoyable. That's a good way to describe me with this game, for someone who knew nothing about Persona going in, I had an oddly good time. I don't know if I could recommend it to anyone, the length, setting, and character ages could be a deterrent to many. But I personally loved the game, but I'll be taking a long break before I do a NG+ run. I do love the game but by the end of Maruki's palace I was exhausted. But when I do return, I'll be happy to see all the charm and love the game has to offer.
