A great sci-fi survival horror that draws lots and LOTS of inspiration from Silent Hill but still unique enough to be recognizable by its own style. Part of the recent trend of PS1- looking games with Japanese/anime inspired artstyle and cutscenes in the style of the original Ninja Gaiden for the NES, when narrative experiences in videogames where still in their infancy. Borrows a lot of mechanics, visuals and monster designs from the aforementioned Silent Hill, including the non-sensical layout of some levels, but stays modern enough with its fair repertoire of accessibility options to make your experience as pleasant as possible. Resident Evil was clearly another big inspiration for this game, and even some of the first person sections look like those creepy point-and-click games from the late 90's.

Atmosphere is the highlight here, and is short so those who feel burned out by 60+ hour long games like me will appreciate this one. Fairly linear so you won't have to backtrack a lot, although many puzzles are not as intuitive as the developers thought so I won't shame you if you happen to use a guide for two or three, as I did.

Excellent survival horror experience. I'd replay it sometime in the future.
