One of the few games I would personally call perfect and something everyone should at least try.

I just love this game so much, played it more than a year and a half ago when it came out and I love every memory I have of it. It just uses game mechanics at its best, feeling so much freedom and not have the reminder of quests, items or bosses you might have missed, just doing everything at your own pace and being rewarded by what once seemed like a detour. Perfecting the build you have been working towards since you found your new favorite toy and putting it to the test. Feeling accomplished by finally learning the attack patterns of different enemies and bosses to the pint it feels like a dance.

This game just makes me so happy.

I will just leave one of my favorite moments. The first time I played the game I died to Margit 20+ times. Right after my first playthrough I began a new one, not a NG+. Elected the most basic beginning and went directly to Margit again, beating him like it was nothing just by having the memory of my first successful playthrough.

This game was not what I was expecting but ended up loving it even more.

Expectations
I got this game recommended by a friend who played the first one, it was sold to me by him and many outlets as a rouge-like, souls-like shooter. When I got my hands on it it wasn't that or at least not to that extent, it is very light on the first two elements as it has some procedural generation only in the areas connected to the hub and it is usually really big predefined maps. The souls-like is also very light, when you die you respawn with all your progressions and just have to kill enemies again from the last checkpoint, you have multiple difficulty options and it is very encouraged not to start on the hardest, the most similarities are found in fights against bosses.

Story
One I got into the game it was so much fun to just explore and complete the areas, the story was a letdown but it was useful to get a natural flow between the 5 playable worlds.

Exploration
Getting on the Campaing, which is a different mode when you start a complete a single world was the most fun I had as I found out there was even more areas and bosses I didn't find on my first playtrogh on the story mode, and it wasn't because I didn't explore enough rather than a clever design choice (at first) where you can get new areas to play each playthrough. This lets you get even more items, weapons and armor that are hidden in each area with fun puzzles requiring game skills or intellect. Where I found it struggling is that after 79 hours of playtime I couldn't find two certain rooms for a melee weapon and ring I wanted for my build and even If I kept searching for other players to be in that exact area a lot of players kicked whoever join out of their parties instead of selecting the option to make their world not joinable.

Customization
This is a very strong point and also a very weak one. The game does amazing at letting you make your own twist on builds through weapons, amulets, rings and mods and a lot of them let you feel really powerful. Where I found it struggling is by the lack of armor options, there are around 10, and even less options if you want to concentrate on a certain elemental resistance.

This was my first Yakuza game and it was so much different from what I was expecting. I went in thinking it would have a good story but the game would be more centered on combat but it was the other way around. From those almost 30 hours I probably only played about 6 to 8 of them.
The first few hours of the game can be really boring for each of the two characters, specifically the first two chapters each one. After that the game is amazing being hilarious, action packed and very strongly character driven. It was so good to battle against the same boss over and over again only for him to have more health each time but being easier. And the climatic final chapter was one of the strongest.
