This has one of the coolest concepts of any FE game, but it gets absolutely WASTED here, just resulting in a black and white conflict with a bunch of contrivances. This could've been SO GOOD if they actually "embraced the dark"

Ahh, so you finally played the entire series up to this point. Thracia 776 is bad somehow even though it's literally the best FE on an objective standpoint? Thought Kris was annoying even though we got to see more of the characters because of them? Well now you've seen the worst.

It does get better from here, though. Considering how much you like SoV, I do believe you will like Three Houses quite a bit. Very Persona/Shin Megami Tensei-like, that game. I predict you may also like Engage, though if I had to hazard a guess... 6 or 7/10 because its story sucks. As for me, I actually like Three Hopes.

Regarding your stance on Fates, let's face it. Birthright is the best of the "Trilogy" narrative wise, since at least it's meant to be black and white. You already know Hoshido is the heroic nation, therefore it isn't as jarring as opposed to having the brilliant concept of choosing the wrong side wasted due to the horrendous writing plaguing Fates.
