NON-SPOILER REVIEW:
Gas from beginning to end. There's some questions left unanswered that even Harpocrates can't help to clarify. With all these mysteries, we better get some DLC. Other than that this lived up to my high expectations.

I don't really want to write a lengthy review until I've earned the Platinum trophy, but for now I'll point out a couple things:

-The biggest flaw of this game is the pacing, especially if you're someone who does side quests as they unlock through the story. It can oftentimes feel very abrupt when you go from the action packed, shonen spectacle, political drama of the main story, to the most mundane "go there and do this" shit ever. Most of them are fetch quest slop (as par for the course when it comes to CBU3 quest design). It isn't until the latter half of the game where side quests actually become good in both story and world building-wise. (you can honestly skip any quest you want, but please for the love of god do not skip the ones that are unlocked right before hitting endgame, these should be mandatory viewing IMO).

-Combat is probably the best in the series (even better than 7R imo). Some people think the combat is repetitive, but I honestly think a way to remedy that is to just try different playstyles. There's a whole buffet of Eikonic abilities so there should be no reason why you wouldn't just customize your loadout to something completely different if it starts feeling repetitious.

Time for the 2nd playthrough!

Sadly, I think you might be right. idk I might think less of the game if there's no DLC. They did something that felt like such an oversight that if it wasn't expanded on I'd be genuinely disappointed. It's sucks I can't elaborate on what I'm talking about without spoilers 😭
