Disappointing overall. Monkey's paw type game where the hype was real because Gen 4 was legit some of the best games in the series, only to be completely let done by these. I had tempered my expectations since these weren't technically developed by Game Freak, but even then, they weren't met. I'm still waiting for these to be patched with GTS features instead of only Wonder Trade, but I'm starting to think that'll never happen. Legitimately, at this point, I only play this to catch competitive pokemon I can't get in ScarVio.

Completed the story and the dex. I still play this occasionally to do tera raids and build a competitive team, since it's what is currently used for competition. The last area makes me wish the whole game was like it, since it was a spectacular experience. Not sure why it's so buggy and why it culls so aggresively but still slows down to a crawl or freezes and crashes at worst. I've seen it mentioned that the parts of Paldea that are accessible to the player are a minute fraction of what's actually being rendered at any given time, which is why it performs so badly on decent hardware. Weird dev choice, but I'm guessing they were under so much crunch that the priority was to get the game functioning to a somewhat playable degree to get it shipped out and to focus on bugs and performance later.

Beat everything except 3: Blue. Got 100% on 1 and 2; Got as close to 100% on 3: White as I care to. 100% for me is getting all the save stars available for each game. I got stalled on the Time Trial star. I was never good enough as a kid to beat it and I'm not good enough now lol. Beating it wouldn't be fun to me. I got as many stars as I care to. I'll come back to beat 3: Blue, but considering I only just completed White, I'm not keen on playing the same story a second time yet. I'm going to move on to vol. 2 and come back to this when I feel like it.
