Solarpunk

Part of my Punk Aesthetics series of lists.

Solarpunk is a genre of speculative fiction that is also its own distinguished aesthetic, focusing mainly on renewable energy, living in harmony with nature, and the better future envisioned through both. It may also include elements of other types of speculative fiction such as fantasy and utopian fiction. It is a cyberpunk derivative, contrasted to cyberpunk for its particular extrapolation of technology's impact on society and progress.

@moschidae - I think so too, seems similar in some ways to Common' Hood. thanks!

This subgenre I have found hard to categorize in comparison with some other punks. I've been sitting on this one a while trying to work out what fits.

Where would you put A Valley Without Wind games? I think they're solar punk-ish but I can't quite put my finger on it

@Jackier - I would say Solarpunk is more about development and sustainability and community with high tech. Watching some gameplay I'm not really sure it fits but I'm far from an expert 😅

@LordDarias - Just read your review of this and my Solarpunk knowledge also comes basically from Wikipedia lmao.
