Hi! I'm Lucy! My whole thing on this site is that I *mostly* review movie-based video games! I love video games, but my special interest is movies, so everything else I view in life is through a cinematic lens.
Also, my knowledge of what makes a good video game is most-likely not as refined as most of you on this site, and I already know from experience that what I like to get out of games differs hardcore from most seasoned gamers, so I will probably have quite a few hot takes.
Look, if I vibe with a game, I vibe with it. I don't need next-gen graphics, or for a game to constantly keep re-inventing itself, or to have revolutionary controls, or for it to be hard as fuck.
As long as it's immersive, fun, controls fine, or has a good story I will more likely than not enjoy it.

Finally got around to playing this and it was expectedly brilliant.
Crazy immersive in regards to both how large the map is and how controller elements are implemented to give things weight and bite.
Such a great re-interpretation of the symbiote story, as well. Had me so emotional at so many points. Harry, Peter, MJ, and Miles all feel so real and flawed and my heart broke and soared for them multiple times over the course of the game.
Played wearing the Raimi suit for Peter and the Across the Spider-Verse suit for Miles (Also such an insane attention to detail to make the frame rate match the hand-stitched feel of the frame rate in the Spider-Verse films). Because I can't not make something movie-related.

Will probably be the closest I get to Pirates 6 for years, which is simultaneously cathartic and depressing.
Not perfect. Often repetitive and filled with Sea of Thieves lore that I don't really care for yet the game insists on dedicating entire levels to, but goddamn it feels so good to experience a new Captain Jack Sparrow adventure again.
Geeked out so hard at all the little references to both the films and the ride that made my heart soar so high. And seeing Jack sail into the horizon once again, quite possibly for the last time depending on the direction they go with Pirates 6, was deeply bitter-sweet and so beautiful. Felt like saying goodbye to an old friend.
Genuinely understands and has a greater reverence for Jack Sparrow, PotC lore, and the history of the series than DMTNT ever did.
