Frumble reviewed Shadow of the Colossus
Shadow the Hedgehog is a game that's basic, but to a fault. This game has no atmosphere, which kills it.

I guess you could call this game an open world, it has a big space that the player can move around and navigate to find collosi, however there's nothing there. Obviously this game isn't going for the Ubisoft esque design philosophy of "put a bunch of random shit on the map until for the player to find", it's going for an intentionally empty world that gets the player immersed in the atmosphere, however the word has no soul. Everywhere just lacks purpose, it just feels like a generic place.

The controls can be jank af as well. The player controls fine most of the time but sometimes it's just pure jank. Argo controls good when he's running but if you move off the main path he moves as slow as a snail, which is really annoying at times.

The collosi are fine. Most of them are typical boss fights. Everytime I've heard people describe this game they say "Each collosi is like trying to solve a Rubix cube" which I guess is true, if it's a 2X2. 2/3 of them are well designed and the other 1/3 have me watching YouTube videos trying to solve them.

Overall this game took a risk, and failed, however I respect it taking that risk, even if it didn't really pay off.
