The battle system and core gameplay is better than the first, but everything else brings it down just a bit for me. I agree with my friend's (@blankfret) criticism of the overall character design. The plot is investing and the twist at the end is very cool, but some chapters are painfully slow and there's a difficulty spike around 2/3rds of the way through that almost made me quit.
