While I find the games plot slightly better than Cold Steel 1. The game pretty much has the same problems I had with the first one. The biggest issue I have with these games is that I failed to connect to the characters as most feel generic or boring.

civil war where no one dies sums up this game nicely. class 7 is still extremely boring. most skippable kiseki game by far. at least the music is really good.
Epic conclusion of the saga. There are lower lows than mask of deception (mainly in its pacing to it to the main conflict and the failed potential to some of the plot that could have been amazing) however, as said, the sheer ambition and integrity of the game cannot be understated. This 60 hour journey will be probably stay within the individual's mind for a long time for its twists and turns.Unfortunately, with the state of the VN industry as it is I doubt something like this (and other classics of the genre) can ever be made quite again. In terse terms; this game has a soul. A very romantic tale of war.
Unironically a better story than the Witcher 3 main game. Hearts of Stone has some of the most "cinematic" moments in the Witcher games too. Geralt's fight with Olgeird, and the realization that sweeps over his face when he realizes he's fucking with some dark arts is impeccable.
