I never played the original so I never understood the hype it had back in the day. After playing this I can see why as it was great. The map was laid out so well and felt like a metroidvania in 3D…perfected. Thankfully the controls are modernized in this as the original seems more inconvenient nowadays. I’m glad I got to play a title that I feel like I see on many people's favorite game lists of all time. A great game at just the right amount of play time.
