Dragged down by Tartarus and a somewhat bloated and drawn-out plotline. But playing as Kotone was still a great experience, and the ending still hurts in a good way.

When I played the vanilla version years ago, I actually had a fun time, but it's hard to ignore some of the bad writing choices. Similar to P3, it's somewhat of a bloated experience.

Royal was my second playthrough and soured my opinion of the game in many ways.
Although Maruki was an intriguing addition, neither he, Kasumi, nor the quality-of-life improvements were compelling enough to warrant a second playthrough for me.
