The gameplay might be somewhat generic and linear, but what it lacks in that department it makes up for in spades in narrative. The idea of mixing a video game and a miniseries sounds terrible, but by god Sam Lake and his men pulled it off effortlessly here. The general concept and spin on the age-old time travel story are really well done and heightened by characters that are actually fleshed out and interesting. Overall, it's so much better than it has any right to be.
