I didn't even know it was a remake of the SNES game. The format definitely works better on a DS, I feel. It's a game that you should occasionally play when you have the time for it. Especially because it's a bit repetitive, if you binge play it, like I did. And it's definitely something you should be able to whip out and put away quickly, which a DS helps you with. I don't have the luxury of playing it on original hardware, so that definitely kind of soured the experience, but it was still fun and the first Kirby game I beat. He's so microwaveable :3
