Did not age well but at the same time aged surprisingly. The main problem is that the map is a maze and a guide is basically necessary to even finish it. But it has so many good ideas that makes it one of the most unique games of that time. And I actually think the bosses are still really fun.

The game actually made me laugh multiple times with the funny bosses and the star of this game, big boss. He just says intentionally funny stuff he's awesome.

I'll just mention here on behalf of all of metal gear. Every game's soundtrack is amazing including this one.

a huge improvement. It still didn't age the best today. But they went even more insane with the great ideas and concepts from the first game. The game has cutscenes. An MSX2 game has a great story with cutscenes and twists.

And of course this game added my favourite mechanic in a videogame. The codec. This genius mechanic lets you call your crew to navigate you through areas and bosses. But it's not that basic. It's a way to give these characters more depth. They don't just advise you this is where so many of the character interactions happen. They sometimes just comment on stuff you do in gameplay too. It lets you fall in love with characters who don't even show up physically in the game(Master Miller 🔥). Metal gear 1 did have a codec that's how big boss has presence in the story. But in that game he's the only one that takes advantage of it. The others rarely do anything. And even for big boss he only adds interesting dialogue in certain story areas. So when I say this game made the codec I don't mean the device I mean the mechanic of calling for advice or comments in any area or situation.

This is my favourite game of all time. Everything I love in a game is in it. I love almost everyone in the cast to an insane level. It has my favourite character of all time(Solid Snake). So many insanely bullshit twists and stuff happening that just make me laugh in the best way possible. It takes all the great ideas from the first two games and cranks it up to 100. Every boss is unique in both character and just the fights themselves are always fun and interesting.

But the crown jewel is the codec. Metal gear 2 made the codec but solid perfected it. It's insane the amount of minute stupid stuff you do that you wouldn't think about the codec characters comment on. They will comment on everything and even just the advice they give always have character traits sprinkled into them. The codec hijacks a lot of story cutscenes and some of the most insane twists happens in it. You will abuse this poor device but even then YOU WILL NOT get all the dialogue. This is how deep it goes.

PEAK.

I also feel this and the first two act like a trilogy. They feel different from the games that come next. And most of the stuff that happens here are results of what happened in the previous games.

Positives:
-If you have any intrusive thoughts of doing something stupid just do it probably most of them will work. This is how crazy the amount of stupid little things you can do.

-The plot and cutscenes are somehow even more crazy the main villain is super over the top in the best way.

-the game just feels smoother and better. And adds insane details. This is the best enemy AI in the series. Not just intelligence they're just funny and react to a lot of things.

Negatives:

-I know I said the game felt smoother and it also has the best AI. But for my first playthrough it's a negative. The game is waay too hard and I'm bad at stealth. I switched to easy mode but the things those enemies did to me.

-sadly the codec took a nosedive here. It's still unique for spoilery reasons. But for most of the game it's just them telling you what to do without any added personality. Rose just sucks.

Positives:
-This is the best prequel yet created. And one of the best games ever made

-Insane spectacle the cutscenes are awesome, and the bosses are all amazing.

-Finally you can move the camera, it makes the game easier to handle in a good way. It has the great mechanics solid 2 added but lowers the difficulty.

-Of course lots of stupid stuff to do and insane detail. The game even comments on the fact this is a prequel(which is why I think you shouldn't start with it).

Negatives:

-Minor gripe but too much fanservice

-Also a me thing, but I would have preferred if the main character had a different voice actor just to make him stand out.

-Volgin sucks. In a series where the main villain is always one of if not the best character in their game he was just garbage. The people he employed shit on him and he's scared of them. Yet the game wants him to be this badass woah look at this guy. But for obvious reasons this doesn't bother me as much as it should.

This game is really special to me. I have never been so happy for a game being so good. It just wrapped up my metal gear experience so well that I just cried at the end.

Positives:

-This game solidified Snake as my favourite character of all time

-Ocelot is my favourite antagonist in metal gear

-this game has my favourite boss fight of all time. The bosses are all unique in general.

-I was just as much screaming at all the action as I was glued to the screen just enjoying the quiet moments. The codec is only 2 people now, and I only call one of them. And it's really good. But it's fine here because the party is actually physically together and always shift to them just doing mundane stuff and having the best chemistry. It's perfect.

-Surprisingly exceptional gun variety and customization. Not just guns you are basically kevin levin in this game touch anything and you look like it I had so much fun with it.

Negatives:

-Too much fanservice. And character wise most bosses are meh.

-The rose plotline is fucked she is the worst character in the series.

Nothing could have prepared me for this. All I knew was that metal gear my favourite series is now a hack and slash my favourite genre. Doubling the fun.

-This just plays like the best hack and slash I played so far. So many weapons all with different combos I never got bored.

-The bosses are so cool. I know I said all the games have good soundtracks in metal gear 1 but here the ost is integral to the bosses. Only boss like that in the previous games was solid 4's final one.

-I love all the antagonists. They all have their own take and it makes sense they follow armstrong for different reasons. The last time we had this was solid 1.

-This game saved raiden's character because it actually finishes his story in a fitting way not like how solid 4 did it(maybe because rose isn't here). This was the last metal gear I played. And there's a scene before the final boss with a cameo character talking with raiden. That scene made me realize shit....my journey with metal gear ends here. It was a really good moment then the series went out with an explosion of a boss fight and that was it. It's perfect.

-This game has no negatives it doesn't need it.

This review contains spoilers

This is the first metal gear I played. I just saw it and I wanted to try it. It was a really fun game the gun gameplay is really cool. And I like the freedom and creativity it gives you. That was how I felt back then. Even though this is my least favourite metal gear. I liked it well enough to want to play all the games. And weirdly enough in hindsight it fits I started with this.

Negatives:

-Big boss has no personality. I headcanon it being because he's just venom. But he still could have had something different not just have nothing.

-The game just lacks personality in general. It has it in gameplay but in the story it's so bland. Ocelot, Mantis, and even fucking Liquid Snake all have so little personality it hurts to watch.

-Clash of clans wait 2 days for a weapon upgrade

-The fanservice got even worst somehow I hate quiet.

-The game gets repetitive, missions start feeling the same, only like 3 bosses, And a main antagonist somehow worst than volgin.

I want to end the metal gear series with the positives:

-I really like what they did with master miller. He's amazing here probably the best character in this game.

-I like the idea of Venom snake because even in metal gear 1 big boss acts different than in metal gear 2. This twist makes that make sense and I love that. I just wish he had that easily angered personality with a mix of stupidity in this game. That would have even worked well with miller and ocelot if they kept his personality. Wasted potential there.

-I love the Last cutscene. After finishing rising I came back to this game just to play the last mission. In this cutscene the actual big boss talks a lot, and that continues in the post game recordings. And then it just ends at the beginning. It all just makes sense. Both that it ends at the start of metal gear 1. And also because this is the first one I played. Easily my favourite series of all time.

Positives:

-This is one of the games that taught me english because I kept asking what everything meant to finish the missions. When I couldn't unlock some areas I convinced myself they don't exist and sometimes had dreams about opening them.

-There are fantasy levels for the buzz videogame, and the scenes where bonnie is playing.

-The normal story missions are all unique. Puzzle mission, minigame mission, stealth, time based. It's really fun.

-The toy box is the reason this game is good. Huge map, you build your town, do sidequests, and get ads for unlockable stuff.

Negatives:

-in the toy box at some points random events start happening and they suck. Stressful for no reason. You can ignore them but then come back and your town is just stone people and worms.

-For some reason no mr and mrs potatohead in the game.

I don't even know what to say it's just really boring and bland. I guess the villains were kind of funny. And it's cool that it's a sequel.

This was my first open world Spider-Man I really enjoyed it. It's bland and cheap mostly, But it tries to do interesting stuff and adds it's own stories that are cool like with scorpion. It's a fun turn you brain off game. There are better Spider-Man games though.

I was interested with the main premise being a sequel. But I got really bored a couple of hour ls in, it's boring.

The only positive is King pin was cool. It skims over the main plot for the original stuff. The game is awful and boring.

And it has random generated events that you need to do every 2 minutes for an hour so people like you. But if you stop doing them for 10 minutes the whole police want to kill you.

I love this game. It's fun and cool. It took things from god of war it has good taste. It's mostly a puzzle game and I like it's puzzles.

Idk it was kind of fun....but not really.
