I enjoyed this a lot more than I thought I would! Personally, I think the level design was one of the more enjoyable aspects and how reminiscent this was to old JRPGs. The turn-based was pretty fun and requires some level of attention (Mario RPG-ish). The overall premise of the solstice power was also very cool!

However, I do have complaints with the plot. Major spoilers ahead, proceed with caution.

- Besides the prologue, the main characters barely get any development. I found all the side characters more interesting than the two, which is very disappointing.
- Garl especially overshadowed the main characters in almost all their scenes. Maybe I'm more genre savvy but to me-- I foresaw his death with how much focus he got, and even after, the main characters still barely developed.
- And on the topic of Garl's death, I was really miffed at how it all went down. I won't get into the details but I thought the characters were making stupid decisions. Outside of that, I thought the aftermath was handled well.
- I did not like how the true ending retconned his death. I personally do not like this in almost any media unless it's handled well... and this felt more like an afterthought.

Regardless, still a solid game. :)

Very unique and interesting! Honestly, I can't imagine the technical difficulties that went into developing the main mechanic but it's soooo good. Cait. <3

My only criticism is that, for some puzzles, they teach you some unique solutions-- only to never use it again.

This game has had a chokehold on me since launch. :)
