Such a fantastic game. The writing is great and I find the characters to be very compelling. The relationship that builds between Peter and Octavius is meaningful and has a satisfying payoff. Yuri Lowenthal does an AMAZING job with voice acting Peter especially in the dramatic scenes. Yeah his speech kindof sounds like an anime character but I think he handles the dramatic moments well. The story and characters are great, I find the gameplay to be fun but not very innovative. The combat is pretty similar to the Batman Arkham games however they added a little bit of Spider-Man flair to it. There is far too much hand-holding with the web-swinging and I would much prefer a more skill-based swinging system like Treyarch's Spider-Man 2 (2004) game because as it stands, the swinging in this game is basically an autopilot. Side missions aren't that interesting either. Graphically the game is even more impressive than the PS4 version except they still did not fix Miles Morales' haircut lol. However I did not really notice the increased graphical quality while playing the game. Raytracing is nice, but not needed, especially as you're mostly swinging quite quickly through the city. Additionally, they changed Peter's face model and it looks HORRIBLE. Every time I saw Peter's new face I was taken out of the game. When deciding whether or not to play the updated remastered version or the PS4 original game, you have to decide whether to prioritise slightly better graphics or a very noticeable face change on the main character of the game. For me, the face change is FAR more noticeable than the slight graphical quality increase so I would recommend playing the PS4 original game in my opinion.
