A solid title, matching the aesthetic, gameplay quality and magic as the original, while bringing in a new story connected to the original RE game. It brings a new and interesting partner mechanic to the franchise, if a little finicky and frustrating at times, but I didn't find it too bad personally. The item changes from REmake to 0 are a blessing and a curse, as you aren't able to put items in the item box, but you are free to drop them as you please, which is more convenient than backtracking to a single box, but more tedious to retrieve an item from several rooms away.
The backtracking (in the story) isn't the worst, and is actually a lot more linear than other fixed-camera games which helped with my engagement, it still lacks focus in its story like REmake did, but again the gameplay was fun enough for me.
