So glad to finally have finished this game in its entirety! What a gem this game is. I was maybe TOO young when I first played this, and naturally Paper Mario became the Mario RPG series I was drawn to as a result. Now all these years later I have the ability to really appreciate this for what it is! I will say that the first two Paper Mario games are still a step above for me, but I also have to keep reminding myself that this was a damn SNES game so it deserves a lot of credit for doing all that it did decades ago. The biggest detractors in this game for me are the platforming segments being pretty annoying at times because of some weird depth perception, and the fact that the game is so easy to the extent that I never really struggled once throughout it. But I truly adore the action commands battle system as well as the fun dialogue and wacky, off-beat characters! I could see this being a great introduction RPG for young ones too! Definitely worth checking out, especially if you never played the original. The convenience of being able to play it handheld on the Switch is really nice as well.
