Doom (2016)'s combat returns in a totally new way which feels fresh but familiar. New additions like the flame belch and blood punch make every part of your arsenal feel both essential and useful, as you bounce from weapon to weapon and use the right piece of equipment to get more ammo, armor, or health. All of the weapons feel great and while there were some I found myself not using by the end of the campain it was from personal preference and not lack of utility. There's a fair bit of customization with weapon mods that change of weapons behave and upgrades that are actually useful and improve the feeling of using a certain mod. Suit and health upgrades are less impressive but still interesting. Enemy design is still incredibly fun and cool with demons are are fun and expressive to fun and really push you to adapt. While some may have found introducing enemy weaknesses to be detrimental, I actually appreciated that there were unique ways to tackle just about every enemy other than just filling it with bullets, altough that was always a valid option with one exception. Story is lackluster and pacing is all over the place but still a very strong reccomendation for some of the most fun combat FPS has ever seen.
