Words cannot explain the insane adrenaline this game gives me, and I'd never believe that anything is able to top Doom Eternal in terms of game-play. This game is undeniably of the most unique FPS games after the release of Doom Eternal, giving more action and platforming. While I'd argue that Doom Eternal would focus on "strength", Ultrakill would focus on "speed". This game feels like it's filling in what others are missing, reaching the high stages of pure adrenaline that many could barely even scratch. There are flaws as every game usually has, but I can barely even think of any. The game feels like playing drums, easy to grasp but hard to master. Any mastery of a weapon given in the game feels almost too natural, giving incredible fluidity and allowing you to play the game even faster. In fact, the game incentivizes you to play fast by saving your time and letting you fly around as much as you'd like. The weapons are simple but all are relevant, each giving their unique way of use that makes every single mod extremely important to use in battle. Every new unlock has led to me testing around until it quickly clicks. The levels have been designed in a simple yet genius way that warrants playing it two or three times, with well hidden secrets and a challenge that ranges from a secret encounter to avoiding water in a mostly water stage. The enemies are great, evolving from basic zombies and peashooters to monsters of pure killing intent forcing you to constantly strategize on how to use the arena around you to your advantage. Rather than the Doom Slayer's greatest ally being his weapons, V1's greatest ally has to be the area around him as he would ultimately use it against the given enemy, there is always some advantage. The bosses are spectacular, even the secret bosses. They, as usual bosses do, give a pattern, however they feel perfect as bosses, all the while the secret bosses are unbelievably difficult with tight patterns. The bosses show exactly how quickly you're able to use your arsenal and the arena to your advantage, not only gaining pure adrenaline, but receiving what is undeniably a spectacular show if anyone was watching. This is one of my strongest recommendations and it isn't even finished yet, play this game!
