In the context of being an expansion to a game that I'd argue is a masterpiece I have to give the same level of praise to Shadow of the Erdtree. The expansion is much larger and more fleshed out then I expected, containing some of the best bosses and moments of exploration Elden Ring has. Taking me nearly 40 hours to complete while fairly thoroughly exploring the map without a guide, it definitely has as much in this single expansion then most of From Softwares past Souls games. All that said, considering something a masterpiece does not mean it's perfect. It certainly has places for criticism such as it's final boss being a bit overturned but overall this is a remarkable piece of content that most games expansions will struggle to live up to.
