A love letter to Detective Noirs and John Woo films!

I miss when Rockstar used to take chances and make new titles instead of just milking GTA and Red Dead. 2001-2013 was the golden era for the company and just so many games got released within that time period that became classics and this is no exception.

The gunplay is fun and the sound design for the weapons still sounds great and puts most modern games to shame. The story is basically what you'd see in a gritty crime drama around the same time and is just as good as any film. The gameplay does get a bit repetitive as aside from running and gunning down enemies there isn't a whole lot to it but the mood, atmosphere, score, and sense of badassery you feel playing as Max Payne makes this a memorable and entertaining experience.
