Played this right after the remaster of the original. This was faster paced and they fixed the combat. It felt good this time. More enemy types, more weapons, just more variety in general. The drawback is it only has 3 areas that you must repeat with slightly altered goals. Things do change and the story progresses but I did raise an eyebrow at the choice, which I'm sure was done as a cost-saving measure to just pad out the game because its short even with those reruns. It played well though. No stuttering like the remaster had and honestly, it didn't even look much worse despite being a decade older. The story didn't really seem to progress the overall series much but whatever it was still fun. For sure looking forward to Alan Wake II.
